This traditional beaded necklace/headband/hatband was made by the Hamar tribes of Omo Valley, Ethiopia which is located in a famine zone. The Hamar tribes are renowned for their beadwork and this necklace/headband/hatband is commonly worn by both tribesmen and women. This necklace was made by Arti and her family greatly benefits from the purchase of this necklace. We think something of the fierceness and wisdom of these ancient tribes is woven into their art. Each necklace has a small copper charm in the shape of Africa sewn onto the tassle.
